Hasta hace menos de dos meses, Syriza casi doblaba en intención de votos a Nueva Democracia y la nueva victoria del partido de Tsipras parecía inevitable. Ahora los sondeos reflejan los efectos de la escisión sufrida después de la salida de 25 diputados de Syriza y también el hartazgo del electorado. En las últimas encuestas o bien Syriza lidera por unas décimas o, algo que parecía imposible hasta hace poco, es Nueva Democracia quien lo hace por el mismo margen.

A la UE le da igual quién gane las elecciones en Grecia

Cualquier nuevo gobierno en Grecia tendrá que aplicar sí o sí los ajustes y reformas comprometidos a cambio del tercer rescate “No habrá una gran renegociación política del rescate”, avisa el Eurogrupo, aunque unos resultados muy fracturados retrasarían y aumentarían su coste.

La UE ha vuelto a cambiar el rumbo en su respuesta a la crisis de refugiados. La prioridad ya no es el reparto entre los estados miembros de los demandantes de asilo, que volvió a fracasar este lunes en la reunión extraordinaria debido al bloqueo de los países del este, sino reforzar las fronteras exteriores y acelerar las repatriaciones de inmigrantes irregulares. España acogerá, en total, 35.000 refugiados este año.

Ni se hablará de ellos ni se recordarán sus nombres ni se conocerá su historia. Sus caras se perderán entre miles en las fotos de la prensa internacional. O ni siquiera eso. Pero ellos están aquí, con las caras quemadas bajo el sol inclemente de este comienzo de septiembre, en medio del infierno del puerto de Mitilene, en Lesbos.

El pequeño de la foto no va a llegar con vida a la reunión del Consejo Europeo prevista para el próximo 14 de septiembre. 12 días más a la espera de decidir en los despachos qué hacer con una crisis humanitaria anunciada y sabida. Las iniciativas ciudadanas y las ONG intentan paliar la falta de acción coordinada de la UE.
